ajc architects is excited to share early design work for the new Leavitt Group headquarters in Cedar City, Utah. What was once a collection of offices spread across the city is coming together as one unified campus, a landmark designed to last.
The collaborative design process between Leavitt’s stakeholders and ajc takes its cues directly from the land. Inspired by the canyon walls and geology of the Grand Staircase, the building mass is shaped by the site’s natural topography, view corridors, and solar orientation. Strategic voids punched throughout the program ensure every office has access to natural daylight, while the building maintains a remarkably low profile for its size. Circulation flows like water through a canyon, converging at a central “eddy” that connects all three stories.
The result is a campus that feels as though it emerges from the red earth rather than was placed on it. 194 offices, 98 workstations, and 7 conference rooms, all with natural light. There are 14 huddle rooms, various collaboration spaces, a large recording space, a training room that opens up to a plaza/amphitheater, and a legacy hall.
