The State of Utah (DFCM), in conjunction with Salt Lake Community College, selected ajc architects to program and design this flagship academic building on SLCC’s new Herriman Campus in the southwest portion of Salt Lake County. The University of Utah is an enthusiastic partner in the vision to create a higher eduction hub in Herriman that will meet the needs of the rapidly growing population in the area. The Herriman campus consists of 90 acres of undeveloped land. The new 90,000 SF building will be the first building on the new campus.
The scope of the project includes site development, vehicular and pedestrian paths, the development of roadway access and tying into near-by utilities. Building design includes site analysis, master planning analysis, programming, schematic design, design documents, construction documents, and construction administration.
This highly sustainable landmark building will set the bar for future academic and technical education buildings on the new south SLCC Salt Lake County campus, while updating and modernizing campus design standards.
