ajc architects was engaged to assist the client with the renovation and addition this existing 1952 residence. The project consisted of two phases, the first of which focused on creating an existing conditions floor plan, site plan and detailing of elevations. The second phase involved full design services for the two-level 3,377 SF home.
The draw of this space is several fold. Dramatic views of the Salt Lake Valley, Wasatch Mountains to the east, and Oquirrh Mountains along with the Great Salt Lake to the east are prominent through large expanses of floor to ceiling windows located at the front of the home. Additional light floods into the interior through several large skylights positioned between rafters in the 16 foot vaulted ceilings. Numerous spaces contribute to an elevated living experience including: 3 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a finished basement level, fireplace, spacious custom kitchen, breakfast nook, pantry space, laundry room, formal dining, family room, custom designed master bath, office, hardwood flooring and two-car garage. Outdoor amenities include water-wise landscaping, a full patio suitable for outdoor entertaining and a garden area.
