Granite School District
ajc architects provided programming, design, and construction administration to remodel 151,867 SF in two adjacent existing buildings to create a new administrative and learning center for the Granite School District. The existing buildings were originally built for use as a hospital and for health services. Extensive interior demolition was necessary to transform the buildings from medical to office use. Although the economic advantages of buying and renovating a complex of buildings originally designed for healthcare now seems obvious, it actually took a great deal of “vision” for District administrators to make this decision and see it implemented. The Granite Education Center became Granite School District’s first LEED® certified project.
