St. George’s City View Development is Closer to a Reality
A prominent Utah developer recently purchased and are re-purposing Green Gate Village, on St. George Boulevard in St. George, Utah.
The goal of the project is to redevelop the site from a bed and breakfast to a $30 million development which will include retail shops, multi-family housing and a four-story boutique hotel. The project, the largest in the history of St. George, will add a total of 161,180 square feet of new mixed-use space to the historic core of St. George.
St. George City Manager Gary Esplin calls the project a complicated capital venture that requires a large scale to economically feasible. “We’ve been working for years to get something like this,” Esplin noted.
The project site is located on a prominent block in the downtown historic district. The project will also enable connectivity between the new mixed-use development and the new retail boutique area. A mid-block pedestrian plaza with a water feature or other public amenity will add additional interest and walkability to the site. ajc architects was selected by the developer to design all three buildings for the site.
